established in the field of IT consultancy for the past
24 years, during which time we have served clients locally
throughout the Northwest of England, West Yorkshire and North
Wales.
We can provide a

sizes, from small enterprises to international
corporations. In particular,
we have in-depth knowledge and practical experience with
the more popular accounting software packages such as TAS
Books and Sage
as well as the leading Microsoft™ Products such as Windows™
('98, 200 Professional and XP) Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and SQL
Server. More recently, we have introduced XML and
SiClops skills to our portfolio.

The recent growth
of the Internet provides the opportunity for every business,

brief history of Software
Installation Ltd.
Software
Installation Ltd. was
incorporated in 1985 by the current Managing Director, Chris
Lund. Before creating Software
Installation Ltd., Chris was
a founder Director of Thinking
Software Ltd. which was formed from the highly
successful software house - WLL Computer Services in
1983.
After leaving school in 1971, Chris
studied Marine and Electrical Engineering at Liverpool and
spent a short time at sea before joining the civil service as
a computer operator in 1974. Over the next eight years,
Chris’s enthusiasm and natural talent for IT gained him
several promotions which, coupled with one or two job moves,
broadened his experience to the point where he was ready to
start up in business on his own account.
Over the past 24 years, Software
Installation Ltd. has been
involved in developing, installing and supporting tailor made
systems for many different organisations in several different
industrial sectors.
We have provided

In early 1999, a decision was made to
include internet consultancy and web site management to the
company's portfolio of services. Taking the three
initial letters of Software Installation
Ltd. and adding the suffix 'webs', - a new division was
born and SILwebs
came into being!
More recently, the company has undergone
a managed restructuring programme to ensure that its people,
products and services reflect the demands of its growing
customer base in the 21st century by adding XML expertise to
the portfolio. We have developed a technique to enable
the production and automatic transmission of accounts
documents, such as sales invoices, using the industry-standard
BASDA XML format. We have also gained valuable
experience in analysing, maintaining and data mining
operational and management information from the industry
leading field service engineering software package SiClops.
